  • Shipping and handling

    We use INTERNATIONAL EXPRESS SHIPPING. That means the fastest door-to-door way available to deliver. We supply many expeditions and clubs internationally and are very used to deal with it. Do not hesitate to order internationally, as it is our usual way of working.

    Shipping charges

    • Spain and Portugal: Free UPS shipping. No charge at all in all cases. We apply a 5% tax to the Canary Islands.
    • European Community: Thinkmountain assumes freight charges inside the European Community whenever final amount of the order sums 60 € Euro and up.
    • Rest of the World: Our customers assume the shipping costs. You can calculate your shipping rates EXACTLY through this methods:

      -Using our Shipping Charges Calculator. You can find the link to it in Thinkmountain’s home page, right on the left side.

      -In the checkout process, before giving any personal information to us, right after you choose the items you want to buy and select the country where you buy from.

    Thinkmountain.com ships 90% of all orders the same day the order is received. Most orders are actually received by our customers in 1-7 days from date order was processed, but we cannot assure such a short period of time for every country. Be aware that clearing customs sometimes take several days. Our delivery estimates do not include this additional time, but our experience makes us dare to tell you that you can rely very much on them, as UPS knows how to do everything fast:

    • Spain and Portugal -24 hours;
    • Rest of Europe- 24/48 hours;
    • USA and Canada-48 hours;
    • Latin-America 2/ 5 days,
    • Japan- 4/8 days,
    • China and rest of Asia- 5/7 days;
    • Africa- 4/6 days,
    • Rest of the World- 3/6 days

    CITIZENS FROM THE EUROPEAN UNION (Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Ireland, United Kingdom, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovak Republic, Slovenia ) WILL BE CHARGED A V.A.T. 16% TO THE FINAL AMOUNT OF THE PURCHASE. CITIZENS OF THE REST OF THE WORLD ARE V.A.T. FREE BUT SHOULD REMEMBER THAT THEY WILL BE PROBABLY CHARGED WITH THEIR OWN COUNTRIES' TAXES AT THE MOMENT OF RECEPTION OF THE GOODS.

     

  • Stock & Backorders
    Occasionally, Thinkmountain.com might be out of stock on an item.
    We have this special way to do backorders:

  • If we haven’t got some item/items in your order in stock AND WE CAN GET THEM FROM OUR SUPPLIERS IN LESS THAN 14 DAYS, we will hold the order till those items arrive, but...

  • If we positively know that we cannot get those items/item in that period of time, we will proceed shipping the items in the order that are available.

    Anyway, we would notify you way E-Mail or phone when that item (or another one equivalent that we do have in stock) could be available for you to place another order if that is your desire and you still want it.

    We are one of those rare companies that love to get in touch with our customers and like to share opinions and give advice if needed, so expect us to email you and reply to your emails right back. Ask us to call you way phone if you’d prefer it.

     

  • Orders

    Using Your Shopping Cart

    First of all: we always charge in euros, the actual European currency, we use the exact currency rates in the day you bought from us.

    No matter the way you want to pay, you will always have to go through our shopping cart:

    As you shop, you can carry items by adding them to your virtual shopping cart. This does not obligate you to buy them; it just keeps track of all the items you have selected.

    When you select an item or items in our store that you want to buy and click on the "Ready to checkout" button, the first thing we will ask you is to select your Country. From then on you will know the AMOUNT you will have to pay INCLUDING UPS INTERNATIONAL EXPRESS SHIPPING. Remember that you can calculate your shipping costs using our “Shipping calculator” (the link to it is right on the left side of the website).

    You can review the items in your shopping cart at any time by clicking on the "view your cart & checkout" button in the upper right corner of most pages on our site. If you decide to buy more than one of any item, simply change the number in the shopping cart's quantity box and we will automatically recalculate your subtotal.

    If, after reviewing the contents of your shopping cart, you are ready to purchase the items, select "Ready to checkout?" to begin the simple Checkout process.

    Adding an Item to Your Cart
    As you shop, you can add an item to your shopping cart by clicking on the "Click to Buy!" or "add to cart" buttons found on Product Information pages and on other areas of the site.

    Removing an Item from Your Cart
    If you want to remove an item from your shopping cart, simply click on the "Remove Item" button next to the item you want to eliminate.

    If you’d prefer, it will also work if you change the quantity to 0, at which point we will automatically recalculate your subtotal.

    Proceed to Checkout
    When you have finished shopping and are satisfied with the items in your shopping cart, you can purchase them using our Checkout by clicking on the "Ready to checkout?" button.

    Depending on the country you buy from you will given payment options. Those are settled by several factors (such as our bank’s relationship with some banks from certain countries, etc.), and are the only ones that we can offer you.

    The entire list of options is:

    1. COD.
    2. Credit card (VISA & MasterCard).
    3. Credit card (VISA & MasterCard) through fax.
    4. Money Transfer to our bank account.
    5. Wire transfer through Western Union.
    6. Paypal.
    I. COD payment: After surfing the website, selecting the products you want to buy, pressing the "Ready to checkout?" button and selecting your country, you will be able to select the COD payment option. COD is applicable ONLY to countries inside the European Community. No extra charge is added to COD orders in any case. If you choose this option, you will be guided through our Checkout and will be emailed with the receipt. You make payment to UPS on delivery at your place. We will always get in touch with you through email to confirm that everything is right. Remember that UPS will only (in every case) accept cash.

    II. Credit card (VISA & MasterCard) payment: After surfing the website, selecting the products you want to buy, pressing the "Ready to checkout?" button and selecting your country, you will be able to select the Credit card payment option. ONLY MasterCard and Visa cards are accepted at the moment by our bank. The process is very straightforward and well indicated through the Checkout. Please revise our card fraud’s policy and do not hesitate to call us to resolve doubts.

    Please remember that all orders require a signature upon UPS delivery. Therefore, a physical address is needed. We do not ship to a post office box address or hotel/motel rooms under any circumstances.

    III. Credit card (VISA & MasterCard) through fax payment: After surfing the website, selecting the products you want to buy, pressing the "Ready to checkout?" button and selecting your country, you will be able to select the Credit card (VISA & MasterCard) through fax payment option. If you choose this option, you will be guided through our Checkout, and will be emailed with a receipt that will show you the history of your order. This document does not obligate you to buy and has only an informative mission. In order to finish the order, you will have to download and print a PDF form that you can download here.

    and through Thinkmountain’s shopping cart during the purchase, fill it entirely and sign it. Afterwards, send it through fax ALONG WITH:

  • A photocopy or scan of your Identity Card (include both sides), Driver’s License (include both sides) or Passport (include all identification pages)
  • A photocopy or scan of your Credit Card (include both sides).
  • The receipt that you have received with the order that you have set through Thinkmountain’s website.

    We will take that document to our bank to verify legitimacy of the signature and the credit card’s property and all information data. This process is followed not only to ensure our security, but also to state with certainty, to assure you, that nobody will ever buy from Thinkmountain.com with your own card if it is ever stolen by someone.

    IV. Money Transfer to our bank account payment: After surfing the website, selecting the products you want to buy, pressing the "Ready to checkout?" button and selecting your country, you will be able to select the Money Transfer to our bank account payment option. You will be emailed with your order’s receipt and information about how to make the transfer. When using this system the purchase is not considered finalized until the customer sends us a copy of the transfer receipt by fax/email or until our bank confirms that the money has been lodged in our account). Banks usually charge an extra fee for placing money transfers that will be our customer’s responsibility in any case.     V. Wire transfer through Western Union: After surfing the website, selecting the products you want to buy, pressing the "Ready to checkout?" button and selecting your country, you will be able to select the Wire transfer through Western Union payment option. Just enter all your information. You will be emailed with your order’s receipt. All you have to do is to place the transfer, fax us Thinkmountain’s receipt and Western Union’s transfer receipt. We will get in contact with you to confirm everything is alright.

    This kind of transfers is rather expensive, but is clean and fast. It sometimes helps to get through some orders that cannot be fulfilled with any other payment method. Western Union’s transfer can be placed in many places such as post-offices and travel agencies. Fees must be assumed by our customers in all cases.

    VI. Paypal payment: After surfing the website, selecting the products you want to buy, pressing the "Ready to checkout?" button and selecting your country, you will be able to select the Paypal® payment option. Next step will completely filling the order form and, after it, you will be redirected to Paypal´s payment page, where you can log in and pay the order.

  • Paypal will email both you and us a receipt of the transaction.
  • Thinkmountain will email you a receipt of the order.

    We will check if your order is in stock and, if it is we will ship it right away. If it is not, we will email you or call you to see if you would like to special order it or if you just wanted to cancel. In case that you decide to cancel, we will do the return of your payment in the very same day. This process only takes some minutes.

    Paying through Paypal® is free of charge for you in any case, just as paying through a normal VISA or Master card.

  • Warranty, Exchanges, Returns

    Customer satisfaction is something we believe to be the key to gain loyalty. All merchandise in resalable* condition may be returned for a refund within 15 days since the purchase’s date when accompanied by your receipt. If used and found defective, we will exchange or repair within one year of the purchase date when accompanied by your receipt as well. Save your packing materials and manufacturers warranty together with your Thinkmountain.com’s sales receipt and invoice. After one year if you believe there to be a problem not caused by normal wear and tear, you should contact the manufacturer directly.

    *When returning merchandise to Thinkmountain.com, carefully pack the items in a strong carton, secured with strong shipping tape and return them Parcel Post insured, UPS, DHL or similar. Parcels must be returned shipping charges prepaid. C.O.D. returns can not be accepted and will be refused. Enclose a copy of the Invoice-Return Form (or attach a letter to that Invoice-Return Form) telling us the reason for the return, along with the name, address, and zip code of the person who placed the order (you just need to fill out the return form enclosed with your purchase). Advise us if you are looking for a refund, exchange, or repair. Thinkmountain.com will only refund postage due to shipping errors or defects in merchandise. We reserve the right to choose the way in which we would return shippings, although we make it the fastest way.

  • Refunds

    If your purchase was made using a credit card, that card will be issued a refund, which will appear on your credit card statement. Otherwise, we refund with a money check sent by mail.

  • Exchanges and returns

    Our customers have a 15 days period of time to do it from delivery of the goods. This liberal amount of time allows you to try on and evaluate our merchandise in the comfort of your home. Special Order merchandise or Items on Sale are non-returnable. All returned merchandise must be in the same condition as it was received and in its original packaging. Exchange’s shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility. Thinkmountain.com will only refund postage due to shipping errors or defects in merchandise. In no case in exchanges and returns.

    Exchanges of purchases made by credit card will be credited back to the card if there were difference in the cost. The replacement item will then be credited.

    Returns of Climbing Equipment: In order to assure the safety of our customers, all returns of climbing equipment will be closely inspected for signs of use and improper storage and/or handling. In that case, there would not be money refunds to the customer by Thinkmountain.com, but the returned item would be sent back to him at no charge.

  • Pricing

    Due to the fast-moving nature of the exporting industry, prices and product availability are subject to change without notice. We do our best to provide the most accurate, up-to-date information, but errors do occur and we reserve the right to make changes without notice. We never apply increases to an item previously ordered, that is: our customers ALWAYS pay what they are notified in the moment of purchase.

  • Errors

    Although we do our best to achieve 100% accuracy, occasionally Typographic, Photographic and Technical errors and inaccuracies do occur. Should you encounter an error or inaccuracy, please inform us so it can be corrected.

  • Security

    Credit card frauds.

    We follow a strict protocol for this process.

    The Credit cards are processed by our bank "Caja España de Inversiones" . All our operations are taken to a good end by then. We are proud to serve and create loyalty based on honesty and demand the same from our customers. We try hard to keep our customers satisfied by offering a good customer service and it is well established beyond doubt that we listen to complaints and try to solve the problems, but all credit card frauds will be formally notified to the authorities of the recipient’s country of origin through the proper Spanish consulate to be prosecuted. That includes the address where the goods were delivered by UPS, custom’s declaration, copy of the signed receipt of UPS delivery stored in UPS Servers, a copy of the order, invoices, written material (faxes, emails and letters), recorded IP of the computer from which the order was placed, and all material that preceded the fraud.

    Your privacy:

    Maintaining your privacy is critical to us. We will not sell, share, or rent your information to others in any ways different from those disclosed in this statement:

  • Thinkmountain.com collects information to rapidly and accurately fulfill your order improve your experience at the website.

  • Our goal is to provide our customers with the highest level of service possible. From your first visit to our web site to the delivery of your order, we want you to be completely satisfied with the experience. We want to transmit lightness, easyness, simplicity and stress free experiences to our customers… along with professionality.

  • Your information is only shared when necessary to complete your order (i.e., your credit card and billing information is shared with our bank for authorization and your delivery address is shared with our UPS agency.

  • We use the personal information you supply to complete and ship your order. Your email address is used to send you an order confirmation and to alert you to any changes in the availability of the items you ordered but won’t be UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE sold or given away to no one. We don’t spam with offers.

  • Standard connection information (provided by your browser) is collected by our server. This information includes the type and version of your browser and operating system and is only used to set statistical impact to our website.

    Personal Data Protection

    In compliance with the established Spanish Fundamental Law No 15/1999, dated December 13, relating to the Protection of Data of a Personal Nature, Thinkmountain.com. informs its customers that all personal information provided will be included in an automated personal information file, created and maintained under the liability of Thinkmountain.com.

    The purpose of this file is to facilitate processing orders and to enable us to send our customers any future commercial offers or information relating to our products that could be of interest only if they ask us to do so.

    Thinkmountain.com. guarantees the security and confidentiality of the information provided. In this way, it is committed to the fulfillment of its obligation to maintain secret any information of a personal nature and of its duty to save it and adopt all means necessary in order to avoid its alteration, loss, manipulation or unauthorized use.
